WHAT: This is a softball team made up of girls in the 9-12th grade who play softball for Cadillac or Lake City High Schools. The team will play games against local teams in what is known as the “LAT LEAGUE.”  This team is a collective of players and coaches who want to take advantage of an additional opportunity to get better and have fun.

Why Combine? The LAT League has been around for a long time. Due to commitment conflicts, Lake City and Cadillac have not been able to consistently participate in the LAT League. Having a combined team should allow for enough girls to play on any given week so students from these communities can enjoy this additional opportunity.

Who can play- The first 18 girls from either high school who commit to attending at least 4 of the 7 games and 4 of the 7 practices will be allowed to join the team. There is no priority given to any girl regardless of school, high school grade, or ability level.A waiting list will be created if need be for fill-in players. Coaching- Just as the team will be made of a pool of players, there will be a pool of coaches who have coached in the Cadillac or Lake City High School or travel programs. Cadillac Head Coach Alison Sitts will be the head coach. 

Practices– Practices will be held at the Cadillac Softball Field located behind Lincoln Elementary School at 114 Ford Street. Practices are typically Sunday night from 6:30-8:00 unless communicated otherwise. Pitchers and catchers might be asked to stay longer. The first practice will be on Wednesday, 6-17.   Players and parents will be encouraged to download the app BAND, which will be used for team communication. Cost- The cost will be $50 per player. Contact the organizer or a coach if cost is a concern. This fee will cover jersey rental, umpire fees, and team insurance. Players will be asked to provide their own blue or black pants and blue or black belts. We care more how we play than how we look!

The LLC is being used to protect everyone from liability and will not make a profit.  Checks for the player fee can be made to Up North Michigan Sports LLC or paid in cash to Chad Phillips.
